The correct full model name of this fabulous car is ‘1950 Chrysler Town & Country New Yorker 2-Door Newport Hardtop’.
Owned by Harold Mermel, President of the Chrysler Town & Country Club, this Jupiter Green is one of only 700 built in 1950, which was the final year of production for T&C woodies.
Interestingly, the 1950 Chrysler and Crown Imperial cars were the first Chrysler cars to have all-round disc brakes.
This is a true luxury car; longer, lower and wider than almost everything else that would have been on the road at that time.
